Traveling with Medication
Preparation tips for your trip
[Add intro paragraph – with SRT]
Carry your medication with you during transport. Never pack your medication in the trunk of a car or in your checked luggage as those areas are susceptible to temperature variations, rough handling, or being left behind or lost. Instead, keep your medication easily accessible in a backpack, purse, or carry-on luggage that will remain with you.
Notify the transportation company if you need assistance. If flying, check if your medical devices count toward the carry-on limit and consider pre-boarding. You can also ask for accommodations and assistance getting through the airport facility if needed.
Keep your medication in the pharmacy-labeled packaging. If flying, make sure the name on the pharmacy label matches the name on your boarding pass. You may want to request that TSA officers visually inspect your medication and supplies instead of putting them through the X-ray.
